Fret Not

Psalm 37:1-3 KJV

Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

Psalm 37:1-3 NLT

Don't worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. For like grass, they soon fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither. Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.

I feel like God is telling us right now that we need to trust in him. We need to have faith in him that is faithful. Remember and rehearse how he has been faithful to you in the past . . . how he has taken care of you in the past. And if you don't have such experiences - maybe you need to come to a relationship with him?

Whether you feel that the rebellious people who don't stay inside are wicked - cast your cares. Whether you think the government is wicked for imposing too many laws - cast your cares. God is so much more able than we are. Can we trust him in our situation?

What about the "trust in the Lord and do good" part? How can we do that? You were not made for worry and fear, you are a blessing - a gift to the world. Do you know anyone that can use some help getting groceries or just a phone call? See what you can do to be a light and a blessing to others. You were made for such a time as this.

Philippians 4:6-7 NLT
Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Who needs more peace? My hand is raised. The formula is clear. Pray to God. Pray over the things you are worrying about. Remember we serve a strong and mighty God and he is able.
