Upside Down

The upside down paradigm of this world
Is that there is strength in assertion,
Virtue in possession.
Their foundation is the sand
And they’re not learning their lesson.

The winners are the ones that are never satisfied.
Always pushing.
Always getting.
But there is something they denied.

The emptiness gets pushed away by something fun or shiny.
He says they honor with their lips but in their hearts deny me.

We think we’re going for what’s better
But we’re really getting played,
If the treasure that we’re seeking
Is from earth and ‘bout to fade.

We weren’t made for all this junk.
We were made for so much more.
And it’s now we need to question,
Where are our treasures stored?

Guilty, guilty, all are guilty . . .
But in him mercy is found.
So be bold and run right to him
And you’ll find his grace abounds.
