Prayers

My prayers are for your people

Lord, I cry out for your bride

Free them anxiety

From the lies that you despise

The truth is you are faithful

The truth is we forget

You've answered many faithless prayers

And will answer many yet

Help the church to see you

Help them see they're strong

That you have not forsaken us

You've been here all along

We have a real enemy

He's been working so hard

To uproot our identities

So we don't know who we are

Crafty and deceitful

He's the father of all lies

And though we have redemption

He will tell us we're despised

Wake up now God's people

You are of eternal worth

You are so much better 

Than the treasures of this earth

Pilgrim and sojourner

Your life is at best fleeting

Don't reach for security

Go where God is leading

Follow him relentlessly

No distraction, compromise

You will have a battle

But keep running for the prize
