Worry is a Nudge to Pray

Philippians 4:6
Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made know unto God.

Philippians 4:6-7
Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

Do you find yourself worrying about a lot of things? There is an English proverb that says “Worrying is like sitting in a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but it doesn’t get you anywhere.”

That may be so. But I have noticed that some of us are more prone to worry than others. The Bible tells is that when we find ourselves worrying we should pray and cast our cares (1 Peter 5:7). I wonder if those among us that are worriers are actually meant to be warriors. Prayer warriors. Maybe the worry that you see as a plague, because there is nothing you can do about the situation, is actually put there as a nudge from God to pray and invite him into the situation. After, the prayer is done, we thank him and let go. We are not God and our responsibility is over once we have placed it in his hands.
