Sugar Free Challenge Day 9

If I were to name my number one biggest temptation, it would have to be chocolate chip cookies. To me chocolate chip cookies plus a glass of milk equals perfection.

But I have a tendency to go overboard which is one of the reasons I am challenging myself to go without without sugar for 30 days.

A new neighbor moved in across the street recently, and my sweet neighbor Casey thought of welcoming them to the neighborhood with some dinner and dessert. Casey made them lots of yummies like spaghetti and salad and we made them some chocolate chip cookies.

Man, this was definitely an opportunity to build some self-discipline muscles. Thankfully, my girls took care of baking the cookies.

They’ve got this down!

We were planning this since yesterday and I knew it would be a challenge to resist my favorite dessert but I didn’t realize how much I had internalized it until I had found it deep into my dreams.

In my dream, I had a foreign toy that produced and baked cookies. It came with some weird cookie dough and you were supposed to put it in the toy and it would bake them into cookies. Only I wasn’t waiting for the cookies to bake I was just scooping all of the off-flavored, raw cookie dough straight into my mouth. Even in the dream I was starting to feel sick. Then, in the dream, I remembered that I had broken my 30 day sugar free challenge and was sad.

I was glad that it was just a dream . . . for several reasons.
