Sugar Free Challenge Day 14

Yesterday was day 14. Sugar is really becoming less of a thing for me. My husband was telling me that he was craving soft serve, and as I thought about having it, it honestly did not appeal to me. I know for some people this might sound crazy. But, it just sounded overly sweet. Have you ever had something that was so overwhelmingly sweet that it does not seem it would be enjoyable? I haven't had any "sweets" since I started the challenge, so I do not know for sure whether that would be the case. But, I do know that dates and raisins have become too sweet for me to eat on their own.

Last year, I consciously made an effort to have less salt and have been feeling the same way about salty foods. When I was little my Tia (or Aunt) would take us to the corner store and buy us candy. I like the taste of lemon so she would buy me this "Limon" candy.

It is supposed to be salty and lemony but the problem was that, to me, it tasted mostly like salt. I would eat it because I was meant to enjoy it and I did not mean to be ungrateful, but the overwhelming saltiness sometimes made me shudder.
That is how the thought of some of the sugary foods are becoming to me. My mother in law had a bunch of Lemon Oreos and my husband told me that she ate most of the packet in about a day. It gave me a bit of a chill. It doesn't even sound pleasant.
