Matthew 5:16

Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify you father which is in heaven.

Different people are going to react differently to light. I am not sure if this is a common experience: but I am a smiler. I smile at others. Usually I just get a smile in return. But there have been times when people have been uncomfortable and visibly turned away at my smile. Or, have angrily growled "you are always happy." Remember, It is in darkness that light shines the brightest. We don't know what is going on in other peoples lives and hearts. On a surface level, it is easy to judge others and feel superior. But, if we dig deeper they will start to make more sense. . . . we may not always get a chance to dig deeper. Just remember that hurt people hurt people.

Let's try to be a blessing to others. Forgive others. See what little things we can do to help. Open the doors for others. Return our carts to the cart return at the grocery store. Clean up after ourselves. Clean up after someone else without mentioning they are being lazy. Wash the dishes without being asked. Write a sweet note to someone. Say thank you to someone that deserves it.

Here is one of my favorite quotes:
Miss no single opportunity of making some small sacrifice, here by a smiling look, there by a kindly word; always doing the smallest right, and doing it all for love.― Thérèse de Lisieux
