Complaint Free World Day 13

Galatians 5:16 KJV
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

At times we all come across bad habits that we want to overcome. Maybe you want to eat less sugar? That is a common goal. Sugar can be unhealthy when eaten in excess. So, you make a goal, eat less sugar. That becomes a focus - less sugar, less sugar .  . . the problem is that then your mind is constantly on "sugar" and that you "should not have it." It might be more helpful in these situations to think about what you would like to eat more of. Maybe you might want to eat more vegetables instead of all the sugar you used to eat? So, you can start thinking about all of the vegetables you like to eat. You can cut up a bunch of cucumbers, snack on some baby carrots, munch on some celery. It can be helpful to think about what you "get to" do, instead of focusing on what you no longer want to do.

In the case of trying to be "complaint free," I can focus on not complaining, but it might be more helpful to focus on being positive with my words. I can try to be more thankful and give more compliments.

How I did Day 12: As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I complained. The kids have been sick for the last week or so. They have been throwing up and feeling achy. It started with Laura, the went to Kayla, and yesterday Aubrey was the one feeling sick. Thankfully, they were not all sick at once and the boys seemed to have escaped it. I am praying that we are seeing the end of it.
