Amigurumi: Woodland Animals with Stacey Trock

I've been taking the Amigurumi: Woodland Animal class from Craftsy. Here is a link to Stacey Trock's Amigurumi classes on craftsy.  I think this is my first time trying to learn crochet. I tried knitting before. I like crocheting better so far for one big reason. The kids.
It was easy for the little ones to get curious and pull my work right off the knitting needles. That was so frustrating! If I left my work where they could reach it, a split second later the work was gone. With crochet it is easier to pull a big loop so the work does not come out. It's a nice tip I got from Stacey Trock in her craftsy class.
The Amigurumi use mostly single crochet. That makes it nice and easy. I am making the bird which is the first project in the class. The project includes patterns for the bird, a bear, a deer, and a racoon. I think the bird is the cutest looking Amigurumi in the class so it is a plus that it is the least complicated to make. (I don't think the other animals are very cute but it's probably just me because my husband looked at me like I was a monster when I said so.)
She teaches the slipknot, chaining, single crochet, magic loop, increasing, decreasing, changing colors, joining the amigurumi pieces, how to stuff amigurumi without lumpiness, making/attaching baby safe eyes, and attaching the eyes with washers. She seems to be really good at answering questions and if things are going wrong she will look at pictures and can get a pretty good idea of what went wrong. So far, I would recommend the class IF. If you like the projects in the class or are interested in one of the specific techniques listed. If you're a beginner it might be a good class for you. However, I felt some of her instructions went too fast. Her fingers were moving too fast and the camera was not close enough to really see what was going on for some of the beginning basic things. I had to get supplemental information on Youtube on how to to the magic loop for example. Here is my project on the craftsy website: http://www.craftsy.com/project/view/kaylas-8th-birthday-present/207858
